Staffordshire based Wolgarston High School continue to make history as they edged a tight affair to progress to the quarter finals of the PlayStation F.C. Under 14 Schools Cup.

On a sunny afternoon, with a slightly delayed kick-off due to traffic problems for the visitors, it was the home side who started on the front foot and looked likely to be the side opening the scoring.

However, midway through the half it was Caroline Chisholm who took the lead with a Josh Kilsby header rocking a confident looking Wolgarston.

They held that lead to the break with some solid defending under mounting pressure but it seemed only a matter of time before their hosts would draw level although it was late in the game before they made the breakthrough.

Two goals inside the final 15 minutes seemed to have secured their place in the next round as Dan Hughes equalised before Josh Lewis fired them ahead just a couple of minutes later.

Caroline Chisholm looked down and out but they were not done when a cross come shot found its way to the far post where Preston Lazarski calmly slotted into the far corner to send the game to extra time.

In what was proving to be a titanic battle between two schools looking for their first ever quarter final berth the last word went to the home side with a late winner in extra time as Luke Dallow popped up to send Wolgarston through.

They now face a trip to Turton School for a place in the semi finals but congratulations must go to both sides for a highly entertaining cup tie played in excellent spirit.
