ESFA National Finals

ESFA to host inaugural Men’s Super League National Final

National finalists will head to Birmingham City’s St Andrew’s Stadium for the first ever ESFA Super League Cup Final

Wednesday 19 May 2021 will see Park View Academy from Durham take on the John Madejski Academy (JMA) from Reading in the long awaited 2019/20 season finale for the ESFA U18 Super League.

The match, which kicks off at 2:00pm will be held at Birmingham City’s St Andrew’s Stadium, however, due to current Covid-19 restrictions, no spectators will be permitted to attend. The good news is that the Final will be live-streamed from the ground and available to watch via the ESFA’s YouTube channel, ESFA TV, with full commentary throughout.

The ESFA Super League competition began back in September 2019, running for the first time, however, the quarter and semi-final matches were unable to be completed within the season due to the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown measures in early 2020. Despite some ongoing struggles, Park View and JMA managed to play their earlier fixtures to secure themselves a spot in the National Final, which is now scheduled to take place in just two weeks time.

For further updates, please keep an eye on ESFA social media accounts & tune into ESFA TV on Wednesday 19 May for full match coverage.

The ESFA Super League is here…

ESFA U18 National Cup Competitions just got Super…

In a change to the former U18 National Cup menu, the ESFA have introduced the first ever U18 Super League competitions for boys and girls.

The new set of competitions are designed for those schools, colleges and private providers which offer a football academy or development programme at sixth form level. In a bold new step for the ESFA, these competitions now mean the U18 offering is fully inclusive of all establishments offering programmes allowing students to benefit from regular football training, strength & conditioning and possibly analysis sessions – meaning we are once again increasing participation within National Cup settings.

The competitions, which pupils in years 11, 12 and 13 are eligible to enter are based on the Champions League format, beginning with a group phase, followed by knockout competition after Christmas. The National Final will be held during May at a Premier League or Championship stadium, where the two finalists in each competition will compete to be crowned National Super League Champions.

The ESFA are delighted to be able to open up their competition offer to include organisations outside of traditional ‘schools’ or ‘colleges’ in a bid to create an incredible level of competition for teams across England.

For more information on how to enter (if you haven’t already!), either read the full details here, call the National Competitions Department on 01785 785970 or email them directly at [email protected]
