Schools’ Football Week: 24 – 30 May 2021

The English Schools’ FA are delighted to announce the return of Schools’ Football Week for the 4th year – as we eagerly anticipate the return of schools’ football for the 21/22 season this September

What is Schools’ Football Week?

Schools’ Football Week is an ESFA initiative designed not only to highlight the huge scale of Schools’ Football in England, but also as an opportunity for schools, teams and clubs from across the country to showcase the talent of their pupils, dedication of their teachers and coaches and the benefits that playing schools’ football brings to their school or association. With the anticipated lifting of restrictions on school and youth sport, the ESFA is looking forward to the 21/22 season and is keen, in the meantime, to draw attention to the wonderful world of Schools’ Football that, despite challenges, has been ever present throughout the last 12 months.

The main focus for Schools’ Football Week 2021 is to provide an opportunity for children to get outside, have fun and enjoy being able to play sport with their school friends, competitively or otherwise.

How can we get involved?

We have put together a guide which provides lots of ideas of activities you could introduce into school, football training or your club to help celebrate Schools’ Football Week 2021. You can download the guide here:

Who is Schools’ Football Week for?

Schools’ Football Week is for anyone who contributes to Schools’ Football in England and the pupils & teams they work with. Whether you are a school teacher with school teams, an ESFA volunteer with district and county teams, a coach who trains school players, a Community Trust providing opportunities for children, a local government partnership who give more children the chance to play…this is for you! We want to celebrate all the work that’s done at all levels of Schools’ Football to really show the scale and enjoyment at this grassroots level of the game.
