National Schools' Football Week

ESFA launch Schools’ Football Week 2020

The English Schools’ Football Association are delighted to announce full details on this season’s Schools’ Football Week, from 3 – 7 February 2020.

Running for the third season, the ESFA initiative is a campaign to not only highlight the huge scale of Schools’ Football in England, but also an opportunity for schools and teams across the country to showcase the talent, dedication and benefits of schools’ football using their own experiences. We are keen to draw attention to the wonderful world of Schools’ Football in as many ways as possible and from as many different perspectives as we can, with a view to continuing to raise awareness of the English Schools’ FA and what we are able to provide for school children across the country.

What do we have in store”¦?

First of all, we want to know what you have in store for your pupils and players! If you’re looking for some inspiration, then we’ve put together some ideas for you here.

Schools’ Football Week prizes and rewards

Registration

A huge part of the Schools’ Football Week campaign is making sure that we, at the ESFA, can understand the amount of activity taking place. Our registration page is now open (you can find it here) and here’s the best part –

For every SFW activity registration via this link: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/SFWreg2020 the school, team or club represented will be automatically entered into a draw to win 30 tickets for a tour of Wembley Stadium, kindly donated to us by The FA. What a great opportunity!

SFW Game On activity

All teams that take part in SFW Game On activity will be in the running to win a fantastic prize, courtesy of Panini UK. Each player within the winning team or class will have the opportunity to have a Panini sticker version of themselves created, with Panini framing the whole team-set as a gift for the school or team.

In order to be in with a chance of winning this completely bespoke prize, you must:

  1. Register your activity for SFW Game On via our online portal (registration is open until Friday 3 January 2020)

  2. Share social posts on Twitter and/or Instagram, tagging in @SchoolsFootball and using the hashtag #SFWGameOn

Getting Social

We have some great logos and assets to share with you, you can download them here – we want to create a real presence of the campaign on social media – and for those of you involved to also share videos, photos and details on what you are doing to celebrate Schools’ Football Week.

We will be tracking all posts that include the hashtags #SchoolsFootballWeek and #SFWGameOn and will be entering all of these posts into a draw to win some additional prizes and rewards – so make sure you keep us updated and don’t miss out. We’ll share some more information over the coming weeks!

Pupil Survey

We have created a pupil survey that is available for all pupils from primary to college level to fill out – the purpose of the survey is to gain some valuable insight into the opinions of children on Schools’ Football but also on the wider game.

The survey gives students the opportunity to also fill in which school they attend and thanks to our fantastic Kit Suppliers, Pendle, your school could be in the running to win a brand new team football kit (14 printed shirts + GK, also including shorts and socks)!

We are delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to schools in England – so please encourage your pupils to spend a few minutes providing us with some feedback and giving themselves a voice within football. We will keep a record of all the school names entered by pupils and each of those schools will be placed into a draw to win this great prize!
