ESFA Midweek Report -PlayStation F.C. Schools’ Cup Double Header- Perton Middle School vs Priory School

There were two games in one trip last month as we travelled to Wolverhampton with Perton Middle School and Priory School going head to head in two competitions.

On adjacent pitches it was goals galore in both games as the schools shared the spoils with each winning through in one competition.

In the PlayStation F.C. Under 12 Small Schools Cup a first half double from Ben O’Donnell put Perton in command with a 4-0 lead with a Niall Evans goal and an own goal completing the first half scoring.

Despite the scoreline the 2nd half was still very competitive with Priory battling to find a way back into the game and not letting their heads drop but further strikes from Jensen Capper, Harry Willis and Daniel Stockley saw the home side advance to round 2 courtesy of a 7-1 win.

Their success had continued in the competition with a penalty shoot-out win over Wrekin College in round 2 after a 3-3 draw followed by a 3-0 away win over Lacon Childe to seem them into the last 16.

In the PlayStation F.C. Under 13 Small Schools Cup played at the same time it was Priory who were the big winners, hat-tricks from Donovan and Reynolds leading them to a 12-0 victory over a Perton side weakened by a couple of absent key players.

In a display of clinical finishing the home side had no answer to the dynamic attacking play from a Priory side who could certainly contend for a place in the latter stages.

They continue to progress in the competition, a 13-1 home win in round 2 over Campion School set up a late November 3rd round tie with Sir John Talbot’s Technology College with the winners moving into the last 16.
