Danone Nations Cup World Finals coundown kicks off today with the live draws for the Group Stages of the competition…

The 2019 Danone Nations World Cup competition will take place in Barcelona from the 9th-12th of October and will be the biggest football competition in the world for children aged 10 to 12. Over 700 children from 27 countries are attending the event, which will see each of the teams have the chance to head out onto the RCDE Stadium, home to La Liga team CF Espanyol, to play in their final match, following prior qualifying rounds.

The ESFA are delighted that Team England, this year will consist of FOUR English teams, who will all travel over to Spain in October. Teams will consist of; the winners of the District Cup 2018 and 2019, Newham SFA and Nottingham SFA alongside the winners of the girls’ schools cup 2018 and 2019, Ponteland Primary and School and Easington Colliery primary school, both from the North East of England. This year is the first time that England has been invited to take girls to the competition so the ESFA are delighted to be able to give these players the experience of a lifetime playing in the worlds biggest football tournament.

Congratulations to each of these teams for fighting through a grueling competition for the reward of representing their country at such a big tournament.
