“Opportunities that our students could only dream about”
‘I am just dropping a few lines now that the dust has settled and we are all back to reality. I just wanted to drop a few lines to say how grateful we are as a school for the work that you guys at the ESFA do over the course of a year. We were fortunate to have another magical day down at Reading again this year and our students are still walking on cloud nine with the response they have had from within the school, the local community and the local press!
The organisation, communication and ultimately the finals day are absolutely first class! I said in my interview how grateful we are as a school to the ESFA as it had become part of the DNA of the school to be involved in your competitions and I know it may come across as a cliché but they truly are life long memories for everyone who is involved.
As a school we are too far away for all our pupils to watch in the stadium but my daughter who is also a year 8 student at Stanley said the noise in the school hall was deafening and the atmosphere was great.
We are a small community school who pride ourselves in giving students of all abilities the opportunity to represent their school and hopefully excel. Your hard work and the competitions that you run give myself and my colleagues opportunities that our students could only dream about and as a school we will always be indebted to you for that. Words are only a token gesture of the gratitude we have but I felt compelled to tell you the difference you are making to some of our more vulnerable students who are now different students from the ones who arrived a couple of years ago.
It is very easy to be humble when you win but win or lose our students will never take for granted the opportunities that you and your colleagues create for us.’
