Internship Opportunities for 2020/21 Season

The ESFA are recruiting for interns to support the Association for the 2020/21 season

The English Schools’ FA (ESFA) have three intern vacancies for the 2020/21 season – starting from July 2020 until June 2020. The internship programme offered by the ESFA, whilst unpaid, is a fantastic opportunity for students on their ‘placement’ or ‘sandwich’ year, or graduates looking for some work experience before heading into future career opportunities.

There are three different areas for placement for the coming season, all of which provide unique, hands-on and exciting opportunities for the individuals undertaking the roles. From supporting the National Competitions Department in the running and administration of over 50 National Cup competitions, helping to create and implement intricate PR strategies and campaigns to content creation for all social media channels plus supporting crucial work with major sponsors and partners; there are some fantastic office-based chances to learn…but that’s not all; there will be opportunities to engage in event planning and management, travel across the country to attend events and generally have a hand right in the heart of running all things schools’ football!

What our other interns have had to say…

Don’t just take our word for it, have a read of what two former interns have thought of their opportunities;

“It has been the first time I have worked in an office based environment, therefore it has helped to develop both my social and practical skills. The wide variety of tasks that came with the job meant that no days became monotonous. The finals at the end of the year brought a great end to the internship and gave me an idea of what it is like to work in a stadium on match day.   I will always be thankful to the ESFA and their staff for letting me be part of their team and if the opportunity arises for me to work with them again, I would love to. ”

National Competitions Co-ordinator

“My placement at the English Schools Football Association has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life and something I would highly recommend to anyone trying to gain some valuable experience in a workplace environment. With the brilliant support of the ESFA staff I have developed the skills needed to fulfil day to day responsibilities including running the social media channels, updating the website, communicating with partners, writing press releases and much more. I have also experienced the event side of marketing planning and running events around the country, capturing content and coordinating with the association’s sponsors. These are all skills that are impossible to develop in the classroom and ones that I can take forward in my career. I would like to thank all the staff at the ESFA for their amazing support and  I hope to be back working with you all in the future. “

ESFA Call For Council Members

Join our winning team!

Just by looking at the English Schools’ FA social media or website, it is clear to see the incredible work we are doing within the world of Schools’ Football – none of this work is possible without the hard work and support of our national network of volunteers.

A key part of this network is the role of our Council Members, based across the country and we are recruiting for new members to take on this vital role.

Could you help change the face of schools’ football?

We are now recruiting members who can add value to our Council by representing member Associations in the North and in the South West, which both have one vacancy. If you work in a school (in any capacity, not just as a teacher) and are a member of an affiliated Association, you are now eligible to serve for a term of one season in the first instance. You will need to be nominated by an affiliated Association and be seconded by another affiliated Association – and that’s really all there is to it.

We are providing the opportunity for you to join our Council and play a vital role in the decision making processes involved within the governance of the whole of schools’ football in England. If you have ever felt “Ëœout of the loop’, that you have valuable insight to offer or can see opportunities for development and growth – then this opportunity is for you.

We are looking for nominations for Council members to represent the the North and the South West. This role is what you make it – if you’re not sure of the full requirements, or want to find out some more information, please don’t hesitate to contact Andrea Chilton, CEO for further details.
