UCFB and ESFA to continue educational partnership

The ESFA are delighted to announce that it has extended its partnership with The University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) – the world’s first higher education establishment dedicated to football and sports degrees.

UCFB, which has campuses with the Etihad Stadium and Wembley Stadium at their heart, will continue to be the ESFA Foundation Partner for Higher Education, helping to improve career prospects for students through football.

The extended deal means that employability opportunities for UCFB students at the ESFA and County School FAs will continue, as will research opportunities for students.

A football match between the English schoolboys U18 squad and a UCFB team was one of the highlights of the previous agreement, so UCFB is delighted to confirm that this fixture will return over the coming months. A new detail of the partnerships will be UCFB students helping to run the ESFA YouTube channel and help to broadcast their fixtures.

Andrea Chilton, CEO of ESFA: “The English Schools’ FA is delighted to continue this partnership with UCFB. Our joint missions remain the same – using football as a platform for personal development, educational attainment and career progression, makes this a particularly exciting joint venture through which we aim to enhance each other’s services for the benefit of our players, students and pupils.”

Sharona Friedman, Chief Marketing Officer of UCFB. Sharona added: “The last year has seen a number of our students gain great insight and experience working alongside the ESFA, with all positive about the experience. We’re naturally delighted that this work will continue over the next year and look forward to both organisations benefitting from each other’s expertise.”

UCFB graduates are currently employed at Premier League clubs, including Manchester City and Chelsea, with numerous ex-students also in roles at The Football Association, the Scottish Professional Football League and dozens of English Football League clubs.

Look out for forthcoming information on UCFB and how your pupils can get involved in their fantastic higher education programmes for their future.

Exciting News for our Partners: UCFB

University Campus of Football Business to open stadium study hubs in Melbourne, Toronto, New York and Atlanta

University Campus of Football Business (UCFB), which has UK campuses in London and Manchester with Wembley and Etihad stadiums at their heart, is delighted to announce plans that will afford students and graduates the incredible opportunity to study in New York, Atlanta, Toronto and Melbourne at some of the most iconic stadiums in world sport.

New York’s Red Bull Arena, Atlanta’s brand new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Toronto FC’s BMO Field and the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will host the brand new UCFB Global Study Hubs, enabling students and graduates to further enhance their knowledge and expertise of the international sports industry as well as learn from professionals working at some of the biggest organisations in the sector.

Each hub will host an annual Global Summit event, where students will be able to take part in the UCFB International Club Experience, which will drill down into the inner workings of sports teams in international markets to reveal unique insight.

Each city and sports partner has been carefully selected by UCFB to enable students and alumni to learn and network with the very best that the international sports market has to offer. Melbourne is the capital of Australian sport with the iconic MCG sitting right at its heart, while Toronto FC and its owners, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), are the embodiment of 21st century sports ownership. Meanwhile, New York is home to some of the biggest and best sports franchises in world sport, and Atlanta’s brand new Mercedes-Benz Stadium is the most spectacular and technologically advanced arena in the world.

Brendan Flood, UCFB Chairman and Chief Executive, commented:

“We’ve invested time to forge the right global partnerships that complement our unique proposition of providing best-in-class sports education in inspirational learning environments. Our partners MCG, Toronto FC, Red Bull Arena and Mercedes-Benz Stadium have bought into our vision, which is to upskill the global sports industry, meaning UCFB students and graduates will soon be able to experience some of the greatest arenas in world sport, not to mention have the opportunity to learn from these incredible professionals.”

Brendan Flood, UCFB Chairman & Chief Executive

UCFB’s Global Hubs have been eight years in the making, after the institution introduced itself to the world with its first campus at Burnley FC’s Turf Moor. Since then UCFB has opened further campuses in London and Manchester, each of which have Wembley and Etihad stadiums at their heart. In 2018 UCFB launched its first online Masters degree, allowing students around the world to access its unique sports curriculum.

Brendan added: “I’ve previously stated that my vision for UCFB is to become the “˜Harvard of Sport’, and I believe this new and exciting opportunity for students, on top of what is available to them already, moves us further towards that position. Innovation and opportunity is part of the UCFB DNA, and these global hubs really deliver that.”
