ESFA England U18 Schoolboys’- Official Squad Announcement

The ESFA have announced the 18 players chosen to represent the England U18 Schoolboys’ for the 2019-2020 season!

The ESFA concluded their search for the best schools’ footballers that England has to offer yesterday (Sunday 1st December) with the final England U18 Schoolboys’ trial taking place at Rowley Park, Stafford. The boys have progressed through a rigorous trial process from October until December to be finally selected to represent their country.

The players were first nominated by their county sides to attend regional trials that led to the construction of four regional squads, the North, Midlands, South East and South West. These squads then went head to head in step two of the trials process and formed the North and South Squads that traveled to Rowley Park yesterday for the final step of the process.

With that being said, making the final stage of the trials is a huge personal achievement for all the boys who attended and something they can be very proud of.

A huge congratulations to the following boys:

ESFA U18 England Trials: This Weekend

Trials for the England U18 Boys’ Squad kick off this weekend

The ESFA will begin their search for this season’s most talented U18 boys, with a view to presenting them with the opportunity to earn honours caps by representing their country in the 2019-2020 Schools’ Football season.

England U18 Boys’ regional trials will commence this weekend with events taking place in the Midlands and the North of the country. Players will travel to Northfield School and Sports College on Saturday (19 October) for the Northern trials and Stafford Town FC on Sunday 20 October for the Midlands. Trialists for the South East and South West won’t be far behind, with their regional trial opportunities commencing on the 27 October at Rectory Park, Middlesex in the South East and Frys Club, Bristol on the 3 November in the South West.

These trials will present an opportunity for nominated players to impress selectors before heading to the next stage of the process. Simply by being nominated to take part in regional trials, players have already achieved the honour of being recognised by their county, having been put forward for the opportunity to play internationally by proving their capability of playing both individually and as part of a team.

The international squads are made up of the best players in Schools’ Football in England. Players are chosen based upon their talent, after making their way through a strict trials process. Those who are successful in completing the entire trials process will go on to represent their country in 2020. Once selected, this season’s U18 England Schoolboys’ squad, following some friendly matches, will go on to play in the Centenary Shield against Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Good luck to all of the players taking part!
