Two former England U15 Schoolgirls receive debut call up for the Lionesses senior squad

The ESFA would like to formally congratulate Maya Le Tissier and Katie Robinson for their debut call ups to the senior lionesses squad. Both were part of the England U15 Schoolgirls’ squad who lifted the Bob Docherty Cup in 2016

Maya, who represented Guernsey Schools’ FA, captained the England U15 Schoolgirls’ in 2015/16 whilst Katie, who represented Cornwall Schools’ FA, was the focal point in attack throughout the campaign. The 2015/16 England U15 Schoolgirls’ were the last squad to lift the Bob Docherty Cup, which was played at Dragon’s Park in Newport, Wales. The girls beat both Wales and Scotland in the group stages, where Katie scored against Wales, before beating the Republic of Ireland in the Final. Maya, pictured above, can be seen with the Bob Docherty Trophy.

Since their time together with the England U15 Schoolgirls, Maya has gone on to sign a professional contract with Manchester United, playing five WSL games so far this season and scoring two goals. Katie plays for Brighton and Hove Albion in the WSL, playing five games and scoring one goal. Both girls will now be reunited, wearing three lions on their chest once again, proudly representing their country at the highest, professional level.

The trials process for the England U15 Schoolgirls squad 2022/23 is currently underway, with hundreds of girls around the country hoping to follow in Katie and Mayas’ footsteps. For more information on the ESFA International programme and what to look forward to this season, please click here.
