The ESFA is following national Government guidelines and World Health Organisation advice about prevention of the spread of Corona Virus and at present, our plans for the season are currently unchanged. However, as the situation is an evolving one, this position may change as authorities’ guidance is updated, so please refer to the NHS, WHO or Government advice for the latest position. The ESFA will make any announcement about changes to plans via the website and social media channels, should this become necessary.
In the meantime, the ESFA recognises that individual schools, players or parents may wish to withdraw from planned football activities, or to avoid the pre-or post-match handshakes (although this is not yet a recommendation from the Government). The welfare of schools’ pupils is of paramount importance and as such school or parental decisions will be respected should this be the case. Schools are able to access advice specific to educational settings on the DfE website.
