Two late goals secured Kepier’s passage into the semi finals for the second successive season and set them up for a repeat clash with Thomas Telford for a place in the final.
In a competitive match with their Grimsby based hosts it was a long range Smith effort that gave the hosts a half time lead after Kepier themselves had come close to opening the scoring with a long range shot that bounced down off the crossbar.
With the clock ticking down and the hosts defending well it appeared their quest for a place in the last four would fall short but two late goals from Carr and Stanton edged them in front and they defended that lead until the final whistle.
Thomas Telford reached the semi final with a narrow 1-0 win away to Wright Robinson after extra time to set up what should be a fascinating clash in the North East this afternoon.
