It’s the start of the 2018/19 season and many of the early round match results are flooding in daily. With that in mind let’s take a look at some of the ESFA cups stories and action from across the country, sent in by you!

Our first featured report of the season is an ESFA Boys’ U14 PlayStation Schools’ Cup tie between High Tunstall (Hartlepool) and Egglescliffe School (Stockton & District)

High Tunstall 9 – 0 Egglescliffe School and The Seventh Wonder (Goal)!

This game took place at High Tunstall College and for the High Tunstall boys, a simply outstanding display in the ESFA U14 PlayStation Schools’ Cup was the order of the day.

The Match Action

High Tunstall came out the block quickly, scoring five unanswered goals in the first half with the goals coming from Ryder, Song, Swales, Woolston, and Dixon. The Tunny boys showed no signs of slowing up and continuing the first half form, firing home 4 more goals from Wolston, Hogan twice and lastly Song; resulting in 9-0 victory for High Tunstall.

However,  it was the seventh goal from the hosts  that grabs the headlines! With the High Tunstall manager Ben Holden stating “It (the seventh goal) was the best goal I’ve witnessed in my 10 years at High Tunstall”

“Think Brazil 1970″¦but better!”

The Seventh Wonder (Goal)

The seventh goal came from a neat interchange starting from Pattison in goal to Ryder who moved the ball into midfield as Swales and Woolston work the ball neatly out to Dixon. Dixon knocked it up to Pugh, Pugh back to Dixon, 30 yard diagonal to Wake, first time side foot volley into the path of Hogan who, with the outside of his boot, took the ball directly to the back of the net.

This fine piece of magic and team performance sees High Tunstall fly straight into round three, where they are due an away day to take on Sacred Heart Secondary RC Academy (Redcar & Cleveland).
